Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kimono – Your Search Ends Here

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a form of martial art specializing in “ground fighting”. But here is the interesting twist to it – it is an art to defeat an armed opponent with no weapon or just a short weapon. The Jiu-Jitsu fighters do not confront their opponents with their own force, they manipulate the opponent’s force to defeat them. Derived from Japanese martial art during the early 20th century, this form of the art mainly focuses on the technique of chokeholds and joint locks to fight the opponent. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be learned as a self defense, for MMA (mixed martial art competition) and other tournaments.

If you are learning this amazing art, you need to wear well fitting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kimono, commonly called Jujitsu Kimono or Jiu-Jitsu Kimono. Keep in mind a few pointers while buying that perfect fit kimono:

The Kimono is also called “gi” and you will find it very similar to the “judo” uniform. But Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kimono has tighter cuffs on its pants and jackets than the classic “judo” kimono. The Jujitsu Kimono is made tight keeping in mind the practitioner will benefit from the close fit which will give the opponent very less material to grab and hold. The Kimono or Gi consists of a top (jacket) and a bottom (pants). Our Jiu-Jitsu Kimono comes complete with both jacket and pants. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kimono is made of 100% cotton and you will be surprised by the softness, resilience and strength of the fabric.
Our Jujitsu Kimono comes in sizes A0-A6. A0 is the smallest fit with A6 being the largest. While purchasing the Kimono or Gi, you have to take extra care to ensure it fits perfectly. Perfect fit will make you feel more comfortable. Fit is a personal preference anyways, but it is advisable that you buy a Gi which fits tightly to your body with very less or no material for the opponent to grab. A situation that some Jiu-Jitsu practitioners face is size problem. The pant might fit but the jacket does not and the other way around. This is the reason we have separate pants and jackets available online so you can choose your correct size as per your convenience. We also sell Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kimono belts in 100% cotton.
The Jiu-Jitsu Kimono is available in 3 types of weave: The Single weave, double weave and Gold weave. The Single weave is light and thin and can be torn apart by the opponent very easily. The Double weave is thick and durable and the opponent faces difficulty in grabbing the material. The single and double weave is combined to make the Gold weave, which has the lightness of the single weave but durability of the double weave.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Kimono comes in two types – Traditional and Modern. Traditional is the white or blue Gi and the modern variant comes in many designs. You should find out which style your school prefers. But style has to come last. Comfort and fit are more important when it is a matter of selecting a perfect uniform.
The belt is also an important part of the whole outfit as it holds the jacket together and the color indicates the level of the jiu jitsu fighter.
